What's New at Robotiq?
By Jean-Philippe Jobin, CTO at Robotiq
Jean-Philippe co-founded Robotiq in 2008. With his strong experience in engineering and arts he followed his passion for creation and technologies. As a member of the ISO committee on collaborative robot safety, he contributes in defining the next safety standards for collaborative robots.
Robotiq strikes again with new application-driven solutions and updates to our product family. CTO Jean-Philippe presents what’s new and what’s on the horizon.
11:45am – 1:00pm
1:00pm – 3:00pm
New Tools for Growth
Learn which of Robotiq’s products are the best solution for any application during this speed-dating-style workshop. This fast-paced format will make you think quick on your feet, helping you master the knowledge you need to propose the right solution for your customers.
Take part in a hands-on multi-step assembly using the 2F-85 Gripper and Finishing Copilot. This assembly will perform insertions (Force Copilot) and dispensing via a machine that uses external tool motion control (a new Path Generator and Multipoint Path feature) to do smooth and uniform dispensing.
3:30pm – 5:30pm
Do it Yourself or With a System Integrator?
Learn how to apply the Lean Robotics methodology for do-it-yourself (DIY) projects or leverage a system integrators’s (SI’s) expertise. Discuss business models and best practices with fellow cobot distributors.
- Eric Pourtau, Sysaxes
- Alexandre Paré, Revtech
- Casper Hansen, Technicon
- Silas Robertson, Olympus Controls
Quality Control Machine Tending
Take part in this hands-on workshop where we’ll use EPick and the Wrist Camera to pick an electronic part from conveyors in movement and place it in a quality-control machine. Key learnings include how to use vacuum grippers, choose the right vacuum cup, and make the most of the Wrist Camera’s new Auto-Pick and Barcode Reading features.
Best Partner Awards Ceremony
Day 2 – Thursday, Sept. 5th
8:45am – 9:15am
9:45am – 11:45am
What’s Hot, What’s Not!
Discover which customers are buying more cobots than others right now, and why. Learn from other global cobot experts during intimate group discussions about where to focus in the market, how to unlock and discover new markets, and how to follow the money to stay ahead.
CNC Machine Tending
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll feed a CNC machine using a dual Hand-E setup and the Wrist Camera. Learn how to use dual Grippers, Force Copilot insertions, and the new Camera Tag Relocation features.
11:45am – 1:00pm
1:00pm – 3:00pm
How to Sell Faster and Better
Maximizing results means knowing where to focus your efforts. Put your sales skills to the test while on the hunt for the best customers. Practice and perfect your knowledge of the most effective sales processes while figuring out where to focus your time to drive the most results.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll use the Sanding Kit to sand various materials. First we’ll have the robot locate the part—presented on a mobile cart—using the new Finishing Copilot Offset feature. During the sanding itself, we’ll try out another new feature in the Finishing Copilot Path Generator that lets us add up to 9 points to teach a finishing path for spherical objects.
